GSC Power-Division is glad to reveal the newest addition to our camshaft line, the GSC7045 forged billet S2 set for the VR38 powered GT-R. This isn’t just another cam - lots of research and development went into every aspect of these bump sticks. The billet cores for these cams are proprietary and made in house at GSC. We developed stronger, lighter cams with additional fatigue and wear resistance. CNC machining and grinding gives us the most accurate and repeatable camshafts possible, with precision gun drilling down the center of the cam for oil delivery and weight reduction. This far exceeds OEM durability with the performance GSC Power-Division is world famous for. Good for mild builds all the way up to 1500+ HP strokers.Required for the 7045S2 cams are the GSC 5060 Beehive valve springs and lightweight titanium retainers. These will keep the valve train happy up to 9800 RPM at 60psi of boost. GSC specifically designed the valve springs and retainers for the high horsepower VR38DETT and utilize different intake and exhaust retainers to keep proper spring seat pressure.

Ths GSC Power-Division Conical Valve Spring Kit with Ti Retainer for the Nissan VR38DET includes 24 titanium retainers, 24 conical valve springs, and 24 valvle spring shims. True conical valve springs are not a new concept and are industry proven to provide several key advantages over traditional spring designs. A major advantage of conical springs vs. traditional cylindrical or beehive springs is the damping and removal of valvetrain harmonics. Of the three designs, conical springs are the front runners in valvetrain harmonic stability. Utilizing a varying coil diameter as well as coil spacing, a conical spring acts as a natural harmonic damper in the transfer of valvetrain shock. This translates to less stress, less wear, and a longer life of the included components. This level of protection is needed in today’s engines being pushed to their physical and mechanical limits by aftermarket modifications. Every GSC conical spring offers a superfinished surface treatment to go along with the patented, multi-step heat treatment process. The finished product is an extremely reliable, high-performance spring allowing the users to push higher RPMs, use more aggressive cam profiles, and turn up higher boost pressures.

Using advanced 3D design and simulation software, we have created a stronger and higher flowing valve head design. We flow test prototype valve heads in the specific applications to make sure we have the highest flowing valve head available on the market today. With the materials used, we have less valve distortion at the face than any of the tested designs. Less distortion allows for better sealing under extreme conditions and more consistent performance throughout the life of the valve. Back cut to reduce valve weight for higher RPM, higher boost pressure, and allow for more aggressive cam profiles without increasing valve spring seat pressures
Valve stems are micro polished to allow for less oil retention on the stem, which creates less drag on the stem to guide for a smoother motion
Intake valves are a modified 21-4n stainless and exhausts are a modified 23-8n stainless material for high heat capacity while maintaining longevity
Valve tips are either hardened or have a stelite wafer tip fused so that the tip is within 5 Rockwell C of the rocker or valve tappet for extended life and less wear
Valve tip lengths - we have taken extra time to adjust tip heights on the applications to require less tipping of the valve, to maintain proper tip height for proper valve train geometry, and to cut down on install times when setting valve lash
We have also adjusted the keeper groove to properly balance intake and exhaust spring pressures to reduce the use of valve spring shims and maximize performance from our spring and retainer kits
Valves will work with an OEM keeper/lock or, when available, our upgraded keeper/lock. It is not mandatory, but it is suggested, that any valve lock not be reused on performance applications due to material grooving
